Getting into the Christmas Spirit

Week three and we are settling in just fine.

We have very busy weeks but for some reason we have more quality time together.
Mom comes to pick me up from school each day (sometimes dad is able to make it too) and we go to the market to pick up an after school snack and supper.  This is my favourite part of the week.  I love to get those mini oranges to snack on and it is great helping my mom pick our suppers each night.

Our dog Cherry got really sick this week.  She had a bad infection but thankfully she is getting better.

Friday night my mom and dad picked me up and we went skating at Nathan Philips Square.  It is beautiful there in the night.  My mom even came on the ice with us!  I am getting so much better at skating.

This weekend, I had company - my cousin Scarlett came to visit.  It was great having someone to play with again.  It has been hard trying to make friends at the condo and I was missing having someone around.

Saturday we walked 3.5 km to the Christmas marketplace in the Distillery district.  It was a ton of fun and really beautiful. Afterwards we went the St. Lawrence market where we picked up a few things for supper.

We were out for six hours and when we got home, Scarlett and I were exhausted.  We sat back on the couch and watched the movie 'Home'.  Afterwards we went swimming.

On Sunday, I got to meet my Great Uncle Rick for the first time.  We had a great breakfast together and we will visit him soon in Ottawa.

Later in the day we went to the kids Christmas party for our condo. There were crafts, songs, stories and lots of kids.  I met a girl my age and she showed me the kids play room.  I am really hoping I can play with her again soon.

I got all of your messages and they made me very happy.  I got to Facetime with my friend Bellana the other day and I would love to do this with more of my friends.  Just let my mom know if you want to have a Facetime "date" and we will schedule you in.

Settling into Our New Life

Early mornings and busy days is how we live our lives now.
Mom and I get on the street car at 7:15 to make it to school for 7:30.  I can stay at school until 6:00 but mom usually picks me up at 5:00.

We didn't do much this week because it was so busy but we had a special day on Saturday.

On Saturday we walked (well I didn't walk) all the way to The Eaton Centre which is almost 3 km from our house.

It was the Kidzfest which featured The Octunauts!  I was super excited to see them live.

After we were done there, we went to Nathan Philips Square for skating - one of my favourite things to try to do in the winter.  It was so beautiful out today and just the most perfect day for skating.

After our big adventure on the town, we went home for supper and a swim.

I have some special messages that I wanted to say to my friends:

1. Holy Family School should get uniforms.  They make getting ready for school really easy.

2. I miss you lots Jax

3. I am learning lots at my new school.  I am doing math, cursive writing, reading and letter sounds.

I didn't get any messages from my friends last week so I am really hoping that I will get some this week.  I am asking all my friends to post below and tell me what things they have been doing lately.  I miss you!

Week One in the Big City

We have survived our first week in Toronto.  What an adventure getting to this point.
Me and my mom left Thunder Bay on Friday, November 13th, a day before we were originally scheduled to leave because of some complications with the moving elevator.  Unfortunately I was unable to be in Thunder Bay for my acro exam but at least Dance Dynamics gave me a great foundation for dancing in the future.  Now to find a dance studio that compares...not going to happen.  I met some of the best girls at that studio and I am sad that I will not be there to dance with them throughout the years to come.  But I will be back for "guest" visits.

Friday night, my mom and I spent the night in Sault Ste. Marie with my dad (who was there with my brother Matthew for a hockey tournament).  We did LOTS of driving Friday and Saturday which I HATED!!!!

Finally we arrived in Toronto.  It was super exciting driving in to the city.  When we arrived at our new house it was a bit confusing and my mom had a really hard time keeping calm - she even lost our car in the parkade.  I made sure I gave her lots of hugs and told her it was okay.
We finally got into our new condo and I got to play with my cousin Scarlett while everyone else moved us in.

The next morning we woke up to some beautiful views over Lake Ontario.

On Sunday my dad joined us with my brother Matthew.  That afternoon we went to the Christmas parade.

This week we have done many things.  I started school the first week I arrived in Toronto because I was too excited to have friends to play with.  I love my new school although I am missing having lots of friends to play with.  I have homework three times a week and it includes cursive writing and math.  I get to ride the streetcar with my mom to get to school.

Here are some more pictures to show all of the things I have done in Toronto so far.  There are so many things to do and my legs hurt from all the walking.

Julia says to her friends: "I love you, I like you and I miss you".  Send us some pictures!  Come back to the page next week to see all the fun adventures we had.
